Kiengkham's Korner: spring things

March Madness has taken over the Kiengkham home. My husband and I filled out our brackets. Let's just say we will not be winning that billion dollar prize. My bracket completely was destroyed after the second round! How did you guys do?! A lot of upsets, right?! It is our first spring season in our new home. We are anxious to start planting flowers and vegetables! My brother and husband spent the afternoon shopping for the best deals on flowers. They found great deals at home depot and Lowe's. My husband purchased bamboo trees, hostas, snow cones, azaleas, ballerina reds, and a cypress (who I named prince harry cause he looks like a harry). The boys in my family spent the day cutting tree limbs, weed killing, grass cutting and planting. It is pretty exciting! I am excited to share weekly updates with you all. This year I get to create a garden and see it from start to bloom! My friends and I got together for dinner. It was a Mexican themed dinner. I made

what i wore: tunic

My new favorite top to wear is this tunic. I adore the print and feel very comfy in it. The floral colored print pops with these pair of white jeans. Tunics are forgiving and very easy going. It makes this a very comfy top to wear. You may see more tunics in my wardrobe now because it is my new favorite piece!   what I wore: Khol's Floral Tunic//Forver 21 white Jeans//Shoe Show Sandals

what i wore: carolina blue

It's that time of year where March Madness takes over the home and office. (March Madness is the nickname for the NCAA tournament for college basketball). There are screams of joy and screams of disappointment echoing through the rooms. Then you have a bitter sweet feeling when Duke loses, but you had them picked to go further in your bracket. Happy to have Duke lose, but disappointed to lose the perfect bracket (and not to mention Warren Buffet's billion dollar's for the perfect bracket). Carolina is playing tonight and you can count on me screaming at the television. Go Tarheels! Have a good weekend and good luck with your brackets!   what I wore:  Target Carolina shirt, Old Navy shorts and sunglasses, Charming Charlie's earrings, shoe show sandals, thrifted bag.

Kiengkham's Korner: blessings

This week Souwan and I had many blessings. At the end of our busy week I cooked a simple Spaghetti dinner with garlic toast for Souwan and I. (cooking more is part of my lent)   I finally got a framed picture up in our first home! The first of many. I have much more work to do! No need to remind me that we moved in October haha!   (wedding photo is by Nye Noona )     When you receive so many blessings it reminds you others are not so much. My husband and I gathered shampoo for the monthly donation to a local charity.   Baby Kaden arrived! Mommy and baby are happy. Congratulations Mon! My good friend Angel got engaged and is traveling with her new fiancé to their new home in Vegas.     Our good friends Cory and LaTishua celebrated their 15 year wedding anniversary with a surprise vow renewal.

what i wore: green for st. patty's

These photos are sort of lying to you. It's actually not this nice out! On this St. Patrick's Day it is dreary. Here it's icy, rainy and cold outside. One day it's 70 degrees and the next it is 34! I am hoping for warmer days. I was actually glad to be working inside. However, I am enjoying all of the facebbook posts of everyone's St. Patrick's Day. Hope everyone enjoys it! what I wore: green banana republic turtleneck //blue target jeans and boots//old navy sun glasses

kiengkham's korner: barn day!

This past week I had the opportunity to photograph a young rider and her horse. (see last post) She gave my husband and I a riding lesson on her horse. It was our first time riding horses! It was an unforgettable moment riding horses. We learned trotting and different horse riding terms. It was exposure into a whole new world and I adored every moment! My lent this year is not to give anything up, but do something I usually do not get much time to do. I am going to spend more time in the kitchen cooking. I dislike cooking, but everyone of my friends and family know this. So I am going to cook more often! My mom gave us home made beef jerky. It's a favorite of mine! I love to eat this with papaya salad and rice. That is what I made for part of my lent! I made a cucumber salad with beef jerky and rice. My mom made chicken larb for us and gave that to us too. My dad also brings over food, he gave us sausage. We pigged out! My best friend had her first Mary Kay par
